Artist Statement     My purpose as an artist is to portray the beauty and color in God’s world, especially the South Carolina Lowcountry, as I experience them with my eyes and within my heart.   The luminosity of watercolor and its freshness make it my medium of choice for this purpose.

Biographical Info

Andrea was born in Charleston, SC where she still resides.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Marymount College, Tarrytown, New York, and a Master of Education in Counseling from The Citadel in Charleston.  Andrea recently retired from Trident Technical College in North Charleston where she taught mathematics in the Developmental Studies Program.  She is the owner of Andrea Hazel Photography, specializing in wedding photography.  She has been painting in watercolors since 2001, and she is passionate about art.  She is an associate member of the South Carolina Watermedia Society and an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild.  Andrea is married to Frank Hamilton, and she has a daughter, a stepdaughter, a stepson, a grandson, a brand new granddaughter, and two sons-in-law.
